Effective date: May 17, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Kidsplorer (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use our website and application.
1. What we collect
Parent and administrator account information
When you create a parent or institutional account, we collect:
- name, email address, and password hash;
- institution name (for institutional accounts);
- billing contact information (processed by Stripe — see below).
Child profile information
Child profiles are not linked to personal information. We collect only:
- a display name chosen by the parent (does not need to be the child’s real name);
- an age group (e.g., “6–8”, “9–12”) — used to suggest curriculum packs.
We do not collect children’s email addresses, location, school, or any other personally identifiable information. We do not profile children or share any child-related data with third parties.
Browsing and whitelist activity
We store the sites on each child’s approved whitelist and a summary of site visits used to generate the weekly digest email. We do not store per-visit logs, keystroke data, screenshots, or detailed browsing history.
Billing information
Billing is processed by Stripe. We store billing references (customer ID, subscription ID, status) but do not store card numbers or CVV.
Usage and support data
We collect operational logs and account activity metadata to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service.
Website analytics and cookies
Our website may collect IP address, browser/device details, page activity, and cookie-related data. See our Cookie Policy for details.
2. COPPA compliance
Kidsplorer is designed for parents and guardians to manage internet access for children. We take the following steps to comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA):
- Child profiles do not require or collect personal information from children.
- We do not permit children to create accounts or provide personal information directly.
- We do not sell, share, or disclose any child-related data to third parties for commercial purposes.
- We do not use data about children’s browsing activity for advertising or behavioral profiling.
If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child, please contact us at support@kidsplorer.com and we will delete it promptly.
