Approved Browsing for School Computer Labs

Kidsplorer Labs gives a school, church, co-op, or learning center one place to manage approved-site profiles across shared Windows computers.

Enroll a bounded batch of computers

Create an enrollment code for a selected profile and number of computers. The code expires after 48 hours, cannot exceed purchased capacity, and can be revoked. Each successful enrollment creates a unique device credential and dashboard record.

Once available, install the public Microsoft Store app manually or assign it with Intune, then enter the code during first-run setup.

Assign profiles by room, grade, or Windows login

Create profiles for groups that need different websites or schedules, then assign them to devices in bulk. Labs can also import a roster and map a profile to a Windows login for shared machines.

Updates arrive at online devices on their next configuration sync, normally within about a minute.

Manage approved-site rules in bulk

Administrators can add and remove domains in the dashboard, export a profile template code, and use CSV import/export for Labs approved-site rules. A template import copies rules and schedule; it does not create a permanently linked master profile.

Check inventory and configuration status

The Devices view shows the computer name, assigned profile, last-seen time, sync status, and application version. Microsoft Store manages updates, while update timing remains subject to Windows and organization policy.

Define the security boundary clearly

Kidsplorer filters navigation inside its own browser. On standard Windows accounts, it can enable browser lock, full-screen kiosk behavior, PIN-protected exit, and common app-switch restrictions. It does not filter another browser, replace endpoint security, or override an administrator-level user.

Use Windows account restrictions, Intune or equivalent device management, and network controls appropriate to the lab. Administrators remain responsible for approved sites, supervision, policy, and legal requirements.

Evaluate before choosing capacity

The Free plan is useful for evaluating the core approved-site behavior on one computer. Labs starts at five seats and adds the organization workflow: batch enrollment, rosters, staff access, multi-profile assignments, and CSV tools.
